Joel 2:28 (NASB20) “It will come about after this That I will pour out My Spirit on all mankind; And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, Your old men will have dreams, Your young men will see visions.
God has promised to pour His Spirit upon all flesh, and that is a reality now
Acts 2:1-4 (NASB20) 1 When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. 2 And suddenly a noise like a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 And tongues that looked like fire appeared to them, distributing themselves, and a tongue rested on each one of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with different tongues, as the Spirit was giving them the ability to speak out.
They began to speak with tongues as the spirit gave them utterance. This happened on that day in Jerusalem.
Acts 10:44-46 (NASB20) 44 While Peter was still speaking these words, the Holy Spirit fell upon all those who were listening to the message. 45 All the Jewish believers who came with Peter were amazed, because the gift of the Holy Spirit had also been poured out on the Gentiles. 46 For they were hearing them speaking with tongues and exalting God…
We see a set of new believers Gentiles meaning they had no Jewish background hearing the Gospel for the first time, believing it and getting filled The Spirit with the evidence of speaking with tongues.
You are no different God wants you to have His Spirit, the Holy Spirit and also to speak with tongues.
God has given us His Spirit
Ephesians 1:13 (NASB20) In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation–having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of the promise,
We have been sealed with his spirit which goes to say that we now have the Holyghost in us.
1 Corinthians 6:17 (NASB20) But the one who joins himself to the Lord is one spirit with Him.
Because you are joined to the lord you are one spirit with him. And you now have all that the spirit has. His gifts and fruits.
How do you speak with tongues?
You begin by speaking with tongues, the Bible tells us in Acts 2:4 that they began to speak with other tongues. So you can begin as long as you have received the spirit at salvation which we all have at salvation.
When we speak with tongues we do not understand what we are saying but in the spirt we speak mysteries to God
1 Corinthians 14:2 (NKJV) For he who speaks in a tongue does not speak to men but to God, for no one understands [him;] however, in the spirit he speaks mysteries.
Speaking in tongues is a spiritual activity and anyone who has believed the gospel has the spirit of God.
So Speak with tongues it is one of the first things that you should do after salvation.
